hown here is an early and very interesting 30-hour longcase clock by Richard Grreenhill of Canterbury who was born around c1648. The clock dates from about c1685 and the heavily made brass and iron birdcage movement is of a very high quality throughout. The superb engraving to the brass dial centre is typical of the period and is thought to have been executed by Thomas Deale of Ashford who died in 1687. Richard Greenhill  became Free in 1676 and died in 1705.
